Gary Brotherton

Gary Lee Brotherton, 78, of Federal Way, WA, was welcomed into the arms of his loving Savior on November 14, 2023.

Gary was born on December 24, 1944 to William (Bill) and Doris Brotherton in Eugene, OR. He graduated from North Eugene High School in 1963.

Gary had a sense of adventure that led to many shocking stories he shared with his family over the years. The best part of those stories is how he persevered to become a loving husband, caring father, devoted grandfather, loyal employee, faithful member of his church, and an encouragement to everyone he met.

Gary and his wife Janet celebrated 50 years of marriage in May of this year with a wonderful getaway to the San Juan Islands in Washington. Gary had one daughter, Christy, from his first marriage. He and Janet also had a daughter, Anna, and son, Joshua. Gary also has 11 grandchildren, three (soon to be four) great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, William (Bill) and Doris Brotherton, and his daughter, Christy Holmen. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his brother, Gene (Diane) Brotherton; his children Anna (Craig) Kessel and Joshua (Melissa) Brotherton; his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchild. 

A celebration of life was held at New Community Church in Tacoma, WA on Saturday, December 9th at 1 PM.
